I n 2006 Mel Rose Couture was started by dressmaker Mel Hassett, who wanted to create her own business with a desire and vision to provide customers with a unique experience. Mel combined her love for bridal fashion and period costume into the perfect solution that has customer's walking away with stunning hand made couture of high quality craftsmanship. "We aspire to create for our customers their dream in every way possible".

Mel's joy for dressmaking started at a young age thanks to the patience and skill of her mum (a self-taught dressmaker), who would sew beautiful clothes for her family. With basic skills behind her Mel enrolled in several Tafe courses where her skills as a dressmaker flourished and a love of couture garments blossomed. Mel's skills grew to include; corsetry, tailoring, draping, costume production, and millinery.

While Mel's customer's have big dreams of their perfect gowns, Mel also has big dreams for her business:

"I would love to incorporate several new lines into the Mel Rose Couture banner. I hope to include professional tailoring for both men and women, special occasion wear for children, and stunning garments for maternity wear clients. Every person deserves to feel beautiful and unique in their own way; I hope my garments can help do that for my customers".

Although Mel Rose Couture is fairly new into the bridal industry we can expect great things and beautiful craftsmanship in the future.
