Atelier Édition is a permanent line of refined special occasion wear from Mel Rose Couture. Designed specifically for women over 40, thoughtfully constructed, and produced in limited numbers, this collection has been developed for women seeking elegant evening wear that feels modern, considered, and beautifully made.
Beginning with evening gowns and growing over time to encompass cocktail dresses, evening suiting, and separates, it carries the same design sensibility and standard of care as the bespoke studio. This is not a replacement for that work. It is a second pathway, for the woman who wants Mel Rose Couture design and quality with a simpler process.
Created entirely onshore in Australia, with much of the work taking place in Melbourne, the collection will be available by pre-order.

The Philosophy Behind the Collection
For many women, finding beautiful occasionwear becomes increasingly difficult over time. Styles are cut for younger bodies. Fabrics chase trends, and most garments simply don't account for the way proportions shift naturally as a woman moves through her forties, fifties, and beyond.
The result is a wardrobe full of compromises, things that almost fit, almost feel right, almost work for the occasion.
Atelier Édition was designed in response to that.
Every piece begins with a pattern block developed specifically for the proportions of a woman over 40. The bust point is dropped. The waistline is adjusted. The ribcage, which becomes the narrower part of the body over time, is accounted for from the very first line on the pattern. The evening gowns include boning for structure, so the garment holds its shape, without the woman wearing it having to think about it.
From the way the patterns are drafted to the way the finished garment sits, moves, and feels — every decision has been made with one woman in mind.
How Pre-Orders Work
All Atelier Édition pieces are available through pre-order. Here is how the process works:

Once the collection is launched the pre-order window will open.

Each design will be listed with the available sizes and colour ways to order

You will make your selection (design, size, colour) and move to the payment section.

Full payment is required at the time of placing your order

The e -order window will remain open for approximately four weeks, then close and orders processed

Once the orders are processed, your gown goes into production!

Completed pieces will repackaged and sent out directly from the Mel Rose couture Studio.

Delivery takes approximately six to eight weeks from the close of the pre order window.
Pre-orders open again with each new release. The designs are enduring — but colourways, fabrics, and details may evolve between releases, making each one its own. If you love what you see in this release, this is the time to order it.
