Bridal alterations consultation

This appointment is where we review your gown in person and establish exactly what refinement is needed.

During the 60-minute consultation we will review the fit of your gown together, identify and discuss the areas that need attention, outline the fitting schedule, and provide an estimated investment based on the scope of work. The $125 consultation fee is credited toward your final invoice should you proceed.

What to bring

Please bring your gown, the shoes you plan to wear on the day, and any undergarments you intend to wear with it. These details matter for fit assessment and ensure the consultation is as accurate as possible.

A note on timing

Retail delivery times can mean a gown arrives closer to the wedding than expected. As I take a limited number of bridal alteration commissions each season, securing your consultation with adequate lead time is important.

You don't need to have your gown in hand when making your booking — but it must be in your possession before the consultation date. If your wedding is less than five months away, please get in touch before booking so we can assess whether the timeline is workable.

From the time I spoke to Mel to initiate her services, to the exchange of the gowns she created, her service was impeccable. The value of her work is worth every cent, but most of all, the personalised experience she provided was priceless. My sister and I wore custom design dresses to my niece's wedding that captured the essence of elegance that could not be found in any store. Mel's craftmanship is uniquely exquisite, as is her service. We have booked in for another experience with Mel for Family Wedding # 2
