5 Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Wedding Day Look

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. It's a day when all eyes will be on you and you'll want to look your absolute best. But with so much focus on the dress, it's easy to forget about the other important elements of your wedding day attire. Here are 5 ways to make sure you look fabulous from head to toe on your big day.

1. The Right Undergarments

Your wedding dress is going to look its best when you have the right undergarments. Your undergarments should be purchased and ideally be worn at your first fitting. This is so your gown can be tailored to fit you correctly. Depending on your style of dress and the type of support you may require this may mean finding a good strapless bra that fits well and provides plenty of support, no bra and low cut briefs or g-string if your gown has it's own built in support , or a low cut exposed back. You might also want to consider Spanx or other shapewear to help smooth out any problem areas. I recommend asking your bridal store stylist, alterations expert, dressmaker, or designer what would be the best undergarments to wear with your chosen gown. Also closing a skin tone closest to your natural tone is a great way to prevent shadowing. If your undergarments blend in with your skin tone it is less likely they will be seen through the fabrics. Remember, it's all about finding the right foundation for your dress.

2. The Perfect Shoes

Don't underestimate the importance of a great pair of shoes! Not only do they need to be comfortable enough to dance in, but they should also complement your dress and make you feel like a million bucks. The big trick here is to be aware that there is a portion of the day where you will be standing still for about 20mins or more. Your ceremony.

If your dream is to wear high heeled stilettos, or shoes that are hard to walk and stand in you will need to practise. Wear them in by walking around the house (away from any prying eyes😉) ,and, practise standing still in them for the same length of time as your ceremony.

3. Accessories that Pop

Accessories are a great way to add a personal touch to your wedding day look. But beware of going overboard—less is definitely more when it comes to wedding day jewelry. A statement necklace or pair of earrings can really elevate your look, or try a delicate bracelet or hairpiece if you're looking for something more understated. It's all about balance, You want your accessories to compliment you, not take over. A great way to see the entire look together before your big day is to bring your accessories along to your final fitting for your gown. This will help you work out if you have the balance just right.

4. Makeup that Wows

Your wedding day is not the time to experiment with a new makeup look! Stick with what you know and make sure your makeup is photo-ready. If you're not comfortable doing your own makeup, consider hiring a professional makeup artist who can help you achieve the perfect look for your big day. Definitely do a trial of your makeup look before your big day. This will help determine if you are happy with the intended look before your big day.

5. The Finishing Touch

The final piece of the puzzle is, of course, your veil! Whether you choose a simple veil or something more dramatic, make sure it complements the rest of your ensemble and doesn't overshadow your gown. And don't forget about your Fiancé! They should also be dressed to impress.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, so you want to make sure you look and feel your best. With these five tips, you can be confident that you'll be looking gorgeous from head to toe on your big day!
